What a whirlwind weekend we've had in Austin due to the storms in Texas! Despite the challenges posed by the inclement weather, the spirit of competition remained high, making for an unforgettable event.

The unpredictable weather led to delays and venue changes, causing some matches to spill over to Championship Sunday and ultimately resulting in four of the five matches being rescheduled for today, which we're now affectionately dubbing Championship Monday.

Andrei Daescu is unstopable

Andre Daescu had a stellar weekend, showcasing his prowess on the court. Alongside Anna Bright, they achieved the remarkable feat of defeating Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns in a thrilling three-game match, with scores of 11-3, 11-9, 11-3. This marks Daescu's second gold in Austin, following his unexpected victory in the men's doubles alongside Matt Wright.

Navratil & Alshon beat the Johns Brothers

In a stunning upset on Saturday, Zane Navratil and Christian Alshon outmaneuvered the Johns brothers, thwarting their strategy and securing a spot in the quarterfinals, leaving the formidable duo off the podium for the second consecutive tournament.

Ben Johns vs. Federic Staksrud

The intense rivalry between Ben Johns and Federico Staksrud continues to captivate audiences. Despite Fed's impressive streak of five straight finals appearances, today's matchup marked only their second meeting this year. Following a mixed doubles defeat, Ben was determined to end the weekend on a high note, securing victory over Fed in two intense games, with scores of 11-5, 11-7.
